Job Description:

Exciting opportunity to oversee startup of a nonprofit organization facilitating delivery of donated specialty care to low income, uninsured patients in the New Haven area. Responsibilities include the establishment of the central office of Project Access and development of contacts with volunteer physicians, primary care referral sources, and hospital service centers. The executive director will identify gaps in coverage and help with new physician recruitment; establish data management system using tracking software (Rx Assist Plus); hire, train, and supervise care coordinators; and help with outreach to the community and to funding sources. Executive director will receive extensive support from an active Board of Directors, already established, and comprised of physician and non-physician community partners.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse or Physicians Assistant, preferably with Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business or Public Health. Administrative and clinical experience a must. Proven organizational and computer skills required. Experience with financial screening and grant writing. Must be able to work independently. Ability to start half time, progress to full time desirable, but not essential. Candidates must be excited by the opportunity to provide a genuine public service and the opportunity to develop and nurture a newly formed service organization.
